Henry Cavill Stood In Times Square Wearing A Superman Shirt & NO ONE Recognized Him

March 18, 2016

We're all undeniably stoked for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" to hit theaters next weekend, but would you actually notice Superman himself if he was standing next to you in a public place? Actor Henry Cavill recently took to Times Square to find out and the results are pretty hilarious.

Dear Doubter, The glasses are good enough. Regards, Superman #WhoWillWin #Superman

The video shows Cavill casually standing in Times Square wearing a shirt with the iconic Superman logo on it. He stands in front of gigantic billboards with his perfectly chiseled face blown up on them — anndddd no one notices. Like, no one. Forget the fact that he's one of Hollywood's hottest talents and is the leading actor in what's sure to be one of the biggest movies of the year. Forget the countless TV spots with him or even the promotional Snapchat filter of his face that everyone walking by him has surely seen or used. No one even comes up to him, let alone identities him for who he is! Mind-blowing.

Perhaps it's fitting, though, as Clark Kent himself as obviously hidden his true identity in plain sight for decades. If any Superman comic book readers or movie watchers ever thought that this particular aspect of Kent's story was unrealistic, perhaps Cavill's little experiment proves that it's totally doable? Regardless, it's hard to imagine Cavill being too upset that no fans stopped him in the video — his hefty paycheck probably fills the void (video below).

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set for a March 25 release date.
