Rules can suck, we get it. But when you're a college student, you kinda need to obey the laws of your school in order to get that diploma. This unfortunately can prove to be a challenging task for some.
Over on Reddit, users were asked to tell the story of how they got expelled from college.
The dorms had doors straight across from each other all down the hallway, and the doors had handles instead of knobs.
So he got some rope and about 4am tied every door on the floor to the door opposite from it, with about 8-10 inches slack.
He then pulled the fire alarm then watched as people tried to open the doors, only being able to open it a little bit, then the doors would slam shut as guys in opposite room tried to open their door in a game of unwanted tug-of-war
Took a few days of investigating it till they discovered who it was and booted him out.
There was no warning, probation period, or anything like that - he was expelled within a couple of hours of getting caught. I was surprised at the lack of empathy they showed. He was a model student, straight A's, and no previous record.
I sorta maybe kinda tried to fight two university police officers and an RA.
Also he was a jerk and enough people hated him to the point that they spread rumors about him dealing so that he would get kicked out of school.
That was a horrible thing to do to someone so luckily it was his bad grades that were the official reason he had to leave.
Got two semesters of all F's in a row. Was expelled.
Went to community college and got almost all A's.
Was readmitted to the college that had expelled me. I told the academic advisor I wanted to go to Grad school once I was done with my Bachelors. She laughed at me and said people "like me" don't get in to graduate school.
I got straight A's for the next two years. Got into their Grad school just to prove to myself I could, and then dropped out after I finished the first semester. Screw that lady.
Me and a friend were sending each other offensive memes privately through text messaging. One day, he got in trouble for an unrelated incident and they looked through his phone. They saw the memes, called me up to the front office, and they expelled us both for terroristic threats. I still got into university and I am planning to take extra precautions to not get into any trouble at all.
One of them thought it would be a good idea the day after to steal it again with a 4th roomie (not involved with first incident).
He got another .5 year for that.
That and I never really wanted to go in the first place but mostly the X-files
I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth, they blocked the door so I couldn't open it more than a few inches, and then threw a bunch of fireworks in.
Several burns and deaf for an hour, you bet I reported those idiots.
I guess it's just impossible to do an annoying Sonic voice at a low volume.
He couldn't get into a frat party so he threw a Molotov Cocktail at the frat house. I don't know if he got kicked out first or went to jail and THEN kicked out of college.
A month later I got a letter saying I had been academically dismissed, and If I wanted to come back I had to write an essay, meet in front of the school's administrators essentially to beg for my student status back, and pay a fine.
No thanks.. I ended up going to the community college in the same city for a different degree, paying about half than the other school was charging. No regrets!
He was a baseball player at a Catholic college in North Carolina. He got in trouble a few times, but what really pushed the envelope was when he dressed a statue of the Virgin Mary in a bikini.
He'd basically party super hard, and then go start a fight or just beat up someone over something stupid in town. One night he decided to stay on campus and wound up in a fight with the university police.
The administration took a look into his other arrests in town and decided he was more of a liability than an asset.
Not the smartest of engineering students, especially considering that our university uses software to check for plagiarism.
They did it for months before they got caught.
Depression, not knowing how to handle it. Stopped going to a lot of classes, just screwed up left and right. Nothing bad or crazy, just dug myself into a hole that I didn't know how to get out of.
We had a bunch of cops at the school and my friend spit right next to them to see if they would notice. They didn't but the guy watching the security cameras did. My friend ended up flunking out anyway.
He got busted for something or other by the RA, which isn't an expellable offense. But to get back at the RA that caught him, he pooped into a bag, went to the guy's first floor window, and threw it into the RA's room. What made things worse is that the RA had a box fan in the window. The poo hit it and sprayed everywhere in the room.
Literally, the poop hit the fan. He was promptly expelled.
He was already on both academic and conduct probation and had been caught for throwing a party earlier in the week so it was likely he was going to be expelled anyway. But the straw the broke the camel's back was that before his (likely final) conduct meeting he went into one of my female resident's rooms crawled into the empty bunk below her puked all over the room when they tried to get him out. He pooped his pants and then took off his shirt for some reason.
Real gem of a guy.
