Earlier this week, it was announced that Microsoft had listed MS Paint, the 32-year-old drawing and image editing program, under "depreciated features."

This indicated to fans that Microsoft planned to killed off and replace MS Paint with a new app called 'Paint 3D' in future updates of Windows 10.

The announcement that Microsoft could end the reign of MS Paint sparked outrage and disbelief across the internet.

Chaos ensued as people took to MS Paint to create stunning tributes for the soon-to-be fallen relic.

BUT it turns out MS Paint will be sticking around after all...

After the news dropped, Microsoft released a blog post to reassure devastated MS Paint fans that the app won't be killed off anytime soon.

"Amidst today's commentary around MS Paint we wanted to take this opportunity to set the record straight, clear up some confusion and share some good news: MS Paint is here to stay, it will just have a new home soon, in the Windows Store where it will be available for free" Megan Saunders, a general manager at Microsoft, wrote.

Needless to say, the internet applauded.

All is well again in the MS Paint world. Everyone can go about their business.
