"The Nanny" Reunion We've All Been Waiting For!

March 29, 2016

The beloved sitcom "The Nanny" has been off the airwaves since 1999, but the cast is still putting smiles on our faces all these years later. Star Charles Shaughnessy took to Facebook this past weekend to share pictures of him and Fran Drescher celebrating co-star Renee Taylor's 83rd birthday — and it's impossible not to smile at these pics!

Shaughnessy starred as patriarch Maxwell Sheffield on the popular 90s sitcom, which ran for 6 seasons and 146 episodes. Renee Taylor played Sylvia Fine, the mother to Drescher's titular character and the eventual mother-in-law to Shaughnessy's. The stars gathered at Drescher's house over the weekend to celebrate Taylor's big day.

With so many nostalgic series (think "Fuller House" and "Gilmore Girls") being rebooted these days (despite often negative reviews), fans were quick to comment on the photos with their desires for a series reboot of "The Nanny." It's been over 15 years since the series ended in 1999, and seeing our favorite cast members together again definitely got our creative wheels churning with reboot scenarios. While the chances for a reboot seem slim, these photos are enough to make any fan's day.
