Last April, audiences all over the world witnessed one of the most breathtaking and devastating moments in cinematic history.
Avengers: Infinity War, the gargantuan crossover event that saw most of the characters previously introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe working together, concluded with their ultimate foe, Thanos (Josh Brolin), using the Infinity Gauntlet to commit universal genocide on half the population. With just the snap of his fingers, we see, just a moment later, half of our heroes turn to ash and wither away.
If you need a refresher look no further:
In anticipation of the follow-up, Avengers: Endgame, releasing April 26, Jeff Lyons (@usedwigs) pitched how he would open the film in a tweet on March 26:
This obscure joke imagining '80s pop star Daryl Hall taken by the "Thanos Snap" inspired people of Twitter to continue writing the scene, imagining how else this cataclysmic event could have affected pop culture.
Many of the scenes involve our heroes balling their eyes out over the losses of their favorite icons, especially Chris Evans' Steve Rogers (Captain America) despite having been trapped under ice while they were most prevalent.
Here are some of our favorites:

Looks like the end of the road for that tour...
We bet Thanos' favorite flavor is "Half Baked."
Because more tragedy is just what that show needed.
If Bono is not around to help end the suffering, who will?
Stomach feels half empty after that one.
We suppose it makes sense: one man band musicians tend to be quite blue.
Half the universe gone and STILL no love for Ringo?!
Technically crossing universes, but we're sure Marvel would approve of this.
Well, nothing is going to top this one. ROLL CREDITS... But how you about you give us a post-credit scene?
How do you envision the post-Thanos Snap world?
Would seeing Ocean's 6.5 pop up on cable make you cry? Do you shudder at the idea of hearing Blink 91 in your Spotify feed? Can't imagine Peele without Key?
