Every Star Wars fan remembers where they were the first time they saw the first chapter of George Lucas' prequel trilogy, 1999's Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Many claim that the true culprit to blame this "cinematic disaster" on was the character of Jar Jar Binks.
Since then, the actor behind the role, Ahmed Best, has faced constant harassment from fans, which affected him in ways that might make you question, "Who is the real villain here?"
Jar Jar, which was Best's first major film role at 25 years old, still haunts the actor today. Fortunately, he rose above the backlash and, after revealing his dark thoughts from the past, has the earned sympathy and apologies from those who once derided him for merely putting on a performance.
What do you think? Did hardcore fans take things too far, or do you still refuse to say "Meesa sorry" for criticizing the most hated character in Star Wars history?
